Biodiesel Titration is an essential part of manufacturing the biodiesel fuel, when using WVO (waste vegetable oil).
Performing titration test is essential to determine the amount of lye needed to neutralize the acids in waste vegetable oils (wvo). In fact, the titration test is done on wvo, and not on biodiesel since different sources of waste vegetable oils contain varying degrees of free fatty acids (FFAs). Why titrate? If titration testing is not done, the biodiesel producer risks that improper amount of lye may result in incomplete reaction. Proper amount is essential for the optimal qualitative and quantitative biodiesel production efficiency.
